  Longhorn steer chair
Made by Wenzel Friedrich of San Antonio, Texas in the 1880's, whose shop at one time was at 12 Crockett Street. He produced furniture for about ten years, beginning in 1880.
His name is the most well known of all horn furniture makers in America, and he has risen to prominence. It would be proper to refer to him as the Cadillac of makers. Each leg received a Tiffany nickel glassball caster, This model chair in the 1880's  was originally upholstered in cat hide.
